Shopify limits
Shopify's caps on product data, such as 255-character titles, 250 tags, three options and 2,048 variants per product, and which of them Portaim checks before export. Generated from the app itself.
A hard limit is one Shopify refuses to go past: the product or the file is rejected. A soft limit is accepted, but the value is cut off in Shopify's admin or in search results. Where Portaim checks a limit, the check is linked; where it warns below Shopify's cap on purpose, the lower number is shown.

Limits Portaim does not check
The mapping editor offers exactly three option targets, so a fourth option cannot be produced; a WooCommerce export with more than three varying attributes has the extra ones combined into the third option. The variant and image counts are not checked: a product with more than 2,048 variant rows or 250 images is rejected by Shopify at export time and reported on the export page. Titles, handles, vendors, types and option values longer than 255 characters are rare in supplier files and are not checked either.
